Darryl was great here and you can see how he later becomes Rick's righthand man. I was surprised by the compassion he showed over the missing Sophia.

This was the start of Daryl showing his softer size and showing tat he has a heart. He was the only person who kept the faith that Sophia was going to be found alive. Even Carol eventually lost faith.
